About the conference

Welcome from the co-chairs

Welcome to the 9th Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference, which will be held in Brisbane from 22nd to 26th of June, 2011.  We, as Co-Chairs of the conference, join with the members of the Organising Committee and the Australian Psychological Society College of Organisational Psychologists in inviting you to submit your work and to attend this exciting event.  The venue is the expansive Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, located adjacent to Brisbane’s South Bank precinct.

The conference program will cater to both academics and practitioners, with an international flavour and a focus on our theme, Connectivity in a Dynamic World: Human Connection in a World of Dynamic Change.  The conference keynote speakers represent some of the leading Australian and international figures in the world of practice and research in I/O psychology. In addition, we plan an exciting line-up of oral and poster presentations, symposia, e-events, and practice-related activities and sessions.

Brisbane, capital of the State of Queensland and gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, is the place to be in June; delegates can expect clear skies and mild days. The city is one of the most vital and fastest growing in Australia, including first-class restaurants and a vibrant cafe scene within easy reach of the conference venue.  Nearby are some of the best beaches in the world, and a rugged hinterland that provide ideal holiday spots for this time of the year.
